Coffee and Tea Time Sign
Looking for a simple sign for your Kitchen? This Coffee and Tea Time Sign is easy to create using vinyl and a piece of wood.

It’s fun to decorate the different areas in your home, like a coffee/tea bar. This sign would make a nice addition over your kitchen window or above your coffee bar area. You can also make a vinyl decal to put on your coffee or tea maker. The possibilities are endless as to what you can make using the coffee cup and/or tea cup.

If you are only a tea drinker then I also have a tea cup for you to use to make a sign.

Instructions
Cutting Out the Coffee and Tea Time Sign
- Upload the cup in to design space. There is both a tea cup and a coffee cup depending up which you would like on your sign.
- Select all
- Click on where you can resize and resize the to the size you want to cut out
- The sign I created was 24" wide by 5.5" high
- Next add a text box and type the word "Coffee"
- Once you have the word typed click on the font drop down menu and select the font you want to use
- I used the Futura LT Extra Bold Font as it is a single layer cutting font and it makes the letters bigger for cutting out of vinyl
- Select the word coffee and attach it (this will keep your letters in the correct order)
- Next add another text box and type the word "Tea"
- Select the word tea and choose the font that you used for the word coffee.
- Select the word tea and attach it
- Now depending up on the size of the piece of wood you are using for the sign, select all and resize your size to the size you need
Next you will click on "Make It" and the mat selection screen will appear- Once you select the mat size click on the continue button
- Next the prepare mat screen will appear.
Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
The next screen will be where you will select the type of vinyl you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the black vinyl I used is premium vinyl, you will need to select "Premium Vinyl".
Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the vinyl on the mat, this helps in making sure that the vinyl is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the vinyl moving when it is being cut.
Assembling the Coffee and Tea Time
- Starting with the wood sign, paint the sign the color you would like and let it dry for at least 24 hours.
- Once the wood piece is ready
- Weed the letters of the vinyl pieces. I cut the word coffee and the word tea apart so that I could add them to the sign separately.
- Measure your sign and figure out how much you can have on each side of the wording.
- Then using transfer tape place the word coffee on the sign on the left
- Next using transfer tape place the word tea on the sign on the right
- Now you are ready to add the pieces of the coffee cup
- using transfer tape add the cup to the sign
- then using transfer tape add the cream (light color oval) to the top of the cup
- then using transfer tape add the steam (heart shape) placing the bottom on top of the cream just slightly below the top of the cup so that your are not covering up all of the steam
- then using transfer tape add the coffee (dark color oval) to on top of the cream
- If you prefer to make a sign for tea time only, there is a tea cup included in the SVG file
