Since we live in an apartment and my husband has some balance issues, real candles are off the table for safety reasons. But honestly, I don’t mind at all—I actually prefer flameless candles! They’re safe, reusable, and most of them even come with built-in timers. It’s the perfect way to enjoy that warm glow without the worry.

🕯️ A Fun Halloween DIY: Dress Up Those Plain Candles!
Recently, I found a set of plain orange taper flameless candles and immediately thought—these would be perfect for Halloween! But they definitely needed a little spooky sparkle. So, I grabbed my Cricut and some vinyl and got to work transforming them into Halloween-themed taper candles.
✨ Endless Decorating Possibilities
Decorating flameless candles is one of my favorite little projects, and using vinyl with your Cricut makes it so easy and fun! Whether you want to create something whimsical, spooky, or elegant, vinyl lets you totally customize your candles to match your seasonal style.
I’ve made everything from cute and creepy Halloween candles to beautiful, classic Christmas designs—all with just a little creativity and some vinyl magic!
👻 How to Make Your Own Halloween Taper Candles
Here’s a quick overview of how I gave my candles their Halloween makeover:
- Choose your design – Think bats, jack-o’-lanterns, black cats, or spider webs!
- Cut your vinyl – Use your Cricut to cut the designs to fit the size of your candles.
- Apply the vinyl – Carefully transfer your design onto the candle surface. If you want them extra spooky, try layering metallic vinyl or adding glow-in-the-dark touches.
- Set your candles out to display – I placed mine in wooden sconces on our wall in the dining room for some glowing Halloween charm!
Now I have the perfect flameless candles to complete my Halloween decor—and they look so festive and fun!
So the next time you find some plain flameless candles at the store, don’t walk past them—think of all the fun ways you can decorate them with your Cricut! This is one of those easy, crafty projects that adds a big seasonal touch without a lot of effort. 💜
Happy crafting and spooky decorating! 🕷️🕯️
