Easy to Make Hanukkah Insert Cards
Although it is early for the Hanukkah season, I wanted to share these insert cards as I know the Jewish New Year is coming up at the end of the month.
Both of these cards are easy to make and come with my step by step instructions.
The Star of David Insert Card is a simple but pretty card to create using your Cricut.
The Menorah Insert Card is another simple pretty card to create using your Cricut. With this card I decided to use gold glitter card stock for the insert piece to give it a more festive look.
As homemade cards these will make a wonderful way to send your greetings to someone celebrating the season. As you can customize the wording inside the card. I love making homemade cards to send to family and friends.

Star of David Insert Card
Equipment
- Cricut Maker
- Brayer
- Scoring Wheel/Stylus
- Standard Cutting Mat
- Spatula
Materials
- 1 Sheet of Blue Cardstock
- 1 Sheet of Yellow/Gold Cardstock
Instructions
Cutting Out the Star of David Insert Card
- Upload the Star of David Insert Card into design space.
- Select all and ungroup
- Select the dotted line and change to a score line from basic cut
- Select the score line and the card
- and attach them
- Then click on the Make It button
- The prepare screen will appear
- Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
The next screen will be where you will select the type of card stock you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the blue Cardstock I used is medium weight, you will need to select "Medium Weight"..
Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the Cardstock on the mat, this helps in making sure that the paper is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the paper from ripping or moving when it is being cut.
Assembling the Star of David Insert Card
- Starting with the card piece
- fold it in half on the score line
- then insert the insert piece into the card
