Layered Diwali Flower

Diwali is a festival of light, when the victory of good vs evil is celebrated. For the celebration of Diwali clay lamps called divas are lit outside of the homes of those celebrating, along with singing, dancing and fireworks.

Diwali is a time of celebrating like the New Year is here in the United States. It represents a fresh start where you forgive and make peace. Since learning of this holiday, I have thought the Diwali decorations were pretty and wanted to create some using my Cricut to share with you.

Cutting Out the Layered Diwali Flower

  • Select all and adjust to the size you would like to make
  • Then click on the Make It button
  • The prepare screen will appear
  • layered Diwali flower prepare screen
  • Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
The next screen will be where you will select the type of card stock you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the purple Cardstock I used is medium weight, you will need to select "Medium Weight"..
Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the Cardstock on the mat, this helps in making sure that the paper is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the paper from ripping or moving when it is being cut.
