Layered Scalloped Shell

I love seashells, they remind me of the beach and the calmness of the ocean. After Independence Day I like to decorate with a beach theme.

The layered scalloped shell can be resized and put on the front of a card for someone’s summer birthday or thinking of you card. The scalloped shell will also go with your display for the summer or add it to a beach wreath.

I added some pearl embellishments to give it some sparkle.

You can also use this design to cut out of HTV and iron it on the front of a shirt or your beach bag.

Instructions

Cutting Out the Scalloped Shell

  • Upload the scalloped shell into design space.
  • scalloped shell
  • Select all and size it to the size you would like to create
  • Then click on the Make It button
  • The prepare screen will appear
  • Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
The next screen will be where you will select the type of card stock you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the kraft brown Cardstock I used is medium weight, you will need to select "Medium Weight"..
Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the Cardstock on the mat, this helps in making sure that the paper is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the paper from ripping or moving when it is being cut.

Assembling the Scalloped Shell

  • Starting with the brown layer
  • take the second layer
  • put foam glue dots on the back of it
  • then place it on top of the brown bottom layer
  • Next take the top layer
  • put foam glue pieces on the back of it and then place it on top of the second layer
  • scalloped shell complete
  • I added pearl embellisments to the shell
