Simple Hello Card

Do you need a card to send as a note to someone? Download and make the simple hello card.

Materials Needed

  • Cardstock for Card Piece
  • White Cardstock
  • Yellow Cardstock (2 Shades)
  • Black Cardstock
  • Blue Cardstock
  • Barely Arts Glue
  • Paper Flowering Mat & Tools
  • Design #176 in Free Library

This simple card is easy to make, you can use any colored card stock to make the card piece. I used a blended piece of card stock to give it a variegated look. Homemade cards are fun to make and great to receive.

Simple Hello Card

Equipment

  • Cricut Maker
  • Brayer
  • Standard Cutting Mat
  • Spatula
  • Scoring Wheel
  • Flower Shaping Mat and Tool

Materials

  • Cardstock for Card
  • Cardstock for Overlay
  • Yellow Cardstock 2 shades
  • Black Cardstock
  • Blue Cardstock
  • Glue

Instructions

Cutting Out the Simple Hello Card

  • Unzip the download file.
  • Then open up Design Space and start a new project.
  • Click Upload and find where you saved the unzipped version of the downloaded files for this project.


  • Then go into the SVG Folder and select the SVG Files

  • Select all and
  • ungroup in design space
  • Next select the dotted line

  • change to score line
  • then select the card and score line

  • then click on attach
  • Then click on the Make It button
  • The prepare screen will appear
  • Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
    The next screen will be where you will select the type of card stock you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the green Cardstock I used is medium weight, you will need to select "Medium Weight"..
    Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the Cardstock on the mat, this helps in making sure that the paper is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the paper from ripping or moving when it is being cut. 

Assembling the Simple Hello Card

  • Starting with the card piece
  • fold it on the score line
  • next take the front of the card overlay

  • put glue on the back and glue it to the front of the card
  • next take the leaf piece
  • put glue on the back and glue it on the left top side of the card
  • next take the flower pieces
  • using a flower shaping mat and tool shape the two yellow pieces of the flower
  • then glue the smaller yellow flower piece in the middle of the larger one
  • then glue the black flower center on the flower
  • then take the hello piece
  • put glue on the back and glue it on the bottom right of the card
