Cutting Out the Taco Card
Upload the card into design space. Check to make sure the size is correct.
Select all and ungroup.
Next if you would like wording see my blog post on adding text in design space
Next change the dotted line from basic cut
to a score line
then select the wording, score line and the card
and attach them.
Click on "Make It" and the prepare screen will appear
Now if everything looks correct on it, click on the continue button
The next screen will be where you will select the type of card stock you are using. If you do not see the material in your material favorites, click on "browse all materials" to find the weight of cardstock that you are using. For example the white Cardstock I used is medium weight, you will need to select "Medium Weight".
Once you have Design Space set, you are now ready to prepare your mat. I used a brayer when placing the Cardstock on the mat, this helps in making sure that the paper is adhered to the mat and will help in keeping the paper from ripping or moving when it is being cut.
Once you have all the pieces of the card cut out you are ready to assemble it.
Assembling the Taco Card
Starting with the card piece
Fold the card in half on the score line
Next take the chili pepper pieces
put glue on the back of the green piece of the chili pepper and glue it to the red piece
Next take the ground beef piece of the taco
and the cheese piece
put double sided tape on the back of the cheese piece
once you have the tape on pull the tape protectors off and tape the cheese to the ground beef piece
Next take the lettuce piece
put double sided tape on the back of the lettuce
once you have the tape on pull the tape protectors off and tapel the lettuce to the cheese piece
Next take the inside of the taco piece
and the outside piece of the taco
put glue on the back of the outside taco piece
glue the outside taco piece to the inside taco piece
Now you are ready to assemble the tomato pieces
each tomato piece gets four triangles glued to it (see photo below)
Once you have the triangles glued on put three foam glue dots on the back of the each tomato piece at the bottom
place the tomatoes on the lettuce (see photo below for placement)
then put foam glue dots on the lettuce to attach the outside of the taco
place the taco shell pieces on top of the taco
Put foam glue dots on the back of the chili pepper and the taco and place them on the card
