Christmas Crafts = My Happy Place
Christmas is hands down one of my favorite times of the year. From the twinkling lights to the smell of cookies baking, there’s just something magical about the season. And of course, I LOVE crafting during the holidays! 🎁
In our home, I like to decorate with ornaments and pieces that are non-breakable (because let’s be honest, life happens—and so do curious pets and excited kiddos!). That’s where these layered ornaments come in. They’re fun, festive, and best of all—won’t shatter if they take a tumble.
These ornaments are:
- Easy to make using your Cricut and my SVG files
- Beautifully layered for extra dimension and detail
- Made with foil or glitter card stock for maximum sparkle ✨
- Great for trees, gift toppers, garlands, or even as tags!
What You’ll Need:
- My Layered Ornament SVGs Design #41
- Cricut Maker or other cutting machine
- Foil cardstock or glitter cardstock in festive colors
- Foam dots or glue
- Ribbon or twine (for hanging)
- Optional: gems, sequins, or other embellishments
Let’s Make Some Sparkle!
Step 1: Upload the SVG
Start by opening Cricut Design Space and uploading your chosen layered ornament SVG file. I’ve designed several different styles, so feel free to mix and match for a variety-filled tree!
Step 2: Cut the Layers
Choose your cardstock—foil and glitter cardstocks work beautifully for these! Think classic Christmas: red, gold, green, silver, and even icy blue.
Step 3: Assemble the Ornament
Use glue or foam dots to layer the pieces together. Foam dots will give your ornaments extra depth and dimension, and really make the layers pop.
🎨 Tip: Alternate between foil and glitter layers for an eye-catching effect!
Step 4: Add the Finishing Touches
Loop some ribbon or twine through the hole at the top so you can hang your ornament. You can also add a little gem in the center, or glitter accents for even more sparkle.
Hang your ornaments on your tree, tie them to holiday packages, or string them together to create a dazzling garland for your mantel. You could even make a set to give as a handmade gift—because who wouldn’t love a little glittery joy?
Making these layered Christmas ornaments with your Cricut is such a fun and festive project! With my SVGs and a few sheets of shiny cardstock, you’ll be well on your way to decorating your tree (or your gifts!) with something handmade and heartfelt.
So turn on the Christmas music, grab your glitter cardstock, and start creating your own holiday magic! 🎅✨
