Layered Diwali Flower

Light Up Your Diwali with This Layered Flower Cricut Craft

Let’s make something bright and beautiful for one of the most joyful celebrations around—Diwali! Known as the Festival of Light, Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. It’s a time for singing, dancing, fireworks, and lighting clay lamps called divas outside your home to welcome in light and positivity.

Diwali is often compared to the New Year in the United States—it’s a fresh start, a time to forgive, let go of the past, and make peace. Honestly, since learning about this holiday, I’ve been completely drawn to its meaning and its beautiful decorations. So I decided to bring a little Diwali-inspired joy to my crafting space—and yours!—with a Layered Diwali Flower made using my Cricut.

A Flower That Glows with Spirit 🌸

This layered flower is a perfect project to add festive flair to your Diwali décor. Whether you hang it in a window, use it as a centerpiece, or decorate your walls, it brings all the elegance and color this celebration is known for.

I designed it with lots of detail and dimension, so it really pops when you layer the cardstock. You can go bold with traditional colors like deep pink, orange, red, and gold, or get creative with cooler tones like shades of yellow or blue—it’s completely up to you!

What You’ll Need:

  • My Layered Diwali Flower SVG – Design #110 in Free Library
  • Cardstock in your favorite Diwali colors
  • A Cricut or cutting machine
  • Foam Dots and Barely Arts Glue
  • A weeding tool or spatula (optional, but helpful!)
  • String or tape if you want to hang it up

Let’s Get Crafty!

Cut out each layer using your Cricut or cutting machine and stack them up, starting with the base and working your way to the top. I like to use foam tape between the layers for extra dimension, but glue works great too!

The finished flower looks so intricate and festive—it almost feels like you’ve created paper fireworks! You can make a bunch and string them into a garland, or scatter them across your table for a party-ready vibe.

Craft with Meaning

What I love most about this project is that it’s not just pretty—it’s meaningful. Diwali is about light, love, and a fresh start, and taking the time to craft something by hand is such a beautiful way to honor that.

So grab your cardstock, open up Design Space, and let’s celebrate Diwali with creativity and color. Whether you celebrate Diwali yourself or just want to share in the beauty of this festival, this project is a great way to connect through art and light.

Happy Diwali, and happy crafting!
✨ May your home—and your craft table—be filled with light, love, and joy.
